Nottingham Forest’s Hwang Ui-jo finds himself entangled in a troubling situation involving his sister-in-law, who has been sentenced to three years in prison for her alleged attempt to blackmail the player.

According to The Sun, the striker is implicated in a distressing incident revolving around the filming of a sex tape with his former partner, purportedly without her consent.

The scandal unravelled after the player’s sister-in-law purportedly shared the illicit videos on her social media platform.

The report suggests that the sister-in-law has been convicted and sentenced for disseminating private x-rated footage of the player, along with attempting to extort him.

Allegedly, she attempted to coerce Hwang by sending messages indicating that it would be “fun” to release the videos.

Hwang vehemently refutes any involvement in the non-consensual filming of the videos, firmly denying the accusations levelled against him.

Nonetheless, he has faced repercussions, with his suspension from the South Korean national team pending further inquiry.

In a statement relayed by The Sun, the national team announced Hwang’s suspension with the following declaration:

“We have decided not to select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team until a clear conclusion is reached on the facts.”
