Loan with obligation – €20m with sell-on. #THFC— Michael Bridge (@MichaelBridge_) July 22, 2024
The formal announcement of the transfer is expected within the next 24-48 hours. The deal is structured as a loan with an obligation to buy, totalling €20 million, with a sell-on clause included.
Hojbjerg has been seeking a move away from North London since the winter transfer window, driven by a desire for more consistent playing time.
Currently, in the final year of his contract with the Lilywhites, which expires in June of the following year, Spurs have been keen to secure a deal this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.
The deal with Marseille, valued at €20 million, is viewed as a strong financial move for Tottenham, given Hojbjerg’s current market value of €18 million.
