Fulham are facing an unexpected challenge as Tottenham Hotspur attempt to disrupt their plans with a bold £40 million bid for one of their key targets.
According to The Sun, Spurs are looking to disrupt Fulham’s previous plans by swooping in for Scott McTominay, who has been a focus for the London club. Tottenham is keenly monitoring the Scottish international and is considering making a formal offer.
The Cottagers have shown significant interest in the Manchester United star, having already had a bid turned down by the Red Devils, who have set a firm asking price of £40 million for the 27-year-old midfielder.
McTominay, whose current contract with United runs until next June with an option for an additional year, has been a valuable squad player.
But with Erik ten Hag not viewing him as a starter, the player is open to a move away with regular playing time. The club too are keen on cashing in on the player rather than risk losing him on a free.
The report claims that Ange is an admirer of McTominay and the club could be considering making a move for him as alternative to Gallagher.
McTominay delivered several impressive performances during the 2023-24 season, including a standout role in United’s FA Cup victory over Manchester City. He scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in 43 appearances, marking his best goalscoring season for the club.
