Troy Parrott opens up after officially transferring from Tottenham Hotspur to AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie.
The deal, finalized on Saturday for €8 million, followed the Irish international’s medical clearance on Friday.
In an interview with Voetbal International, Parrott expressed his positive outlook on joining AZ.
Parrott expressed enthusiasm about his move to AZ Alkmaar, calling it the “perfect club” for his career progression after leaving Tottenham.
Parrott believes his experience from last year will be beneficial as he integrates into his new team and continues to hone his skills.
He said:
“Before I signed here, I heard a lot of good stories about AZ and I spoke to Kenzo Goudmijn, among others, with whom I became friends when I played with him.
“I think AZ is the perfect club for me to take the next steps in my development.
“I will take with me the useful experience of last year. It helps me that I already played in the Netherlands last season and am therefore used to the competition and life here.”
Parrott joined Tottenham in 2019, signing his first professional contract and making his senior debut later that year.
Last season, the young striker had a remarkable loan spell at Excelsior Rotterdam, scoring 17 goals and providing 5 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
